Victoria Crowned Pigeon, also at the Pittsburgh Aviary.
Had a visitor 17 years ago on the deck. We had a river and protected wetlands behind the houses across the street from us. This was the only time I saw a snake in our yard.
One day, we kept hearing this strange noise for the entire day--sort of a metallic sound. Couldn't figure it out! Around dusk, I was outside and noticed this:
Yep, a frog had somehow gotten up in the gutter somehow. I have a feeling it somehow made its way up the downspout, and was in there making a fuss all day. We'd had plenty of frogs around the property over the years, but this was the first who'd decided to do any sort of climbing!
Not a small spider.
This critter is on the top of one of my 12AX7's. Gives you an idea how small he is! Bob
This is a nesting pair of bald eagles. They have a nest across the lake from our home. This was in a tree in my backyard. This is there 4th year raising young here.
Some kind of a prehistoric lizardy thing.
I little critter I spied while conducting a construction site inspection this past Spring:
Another critter seen during another inspection earlier that same Spring:
Then there is this little pest I deal with on a daily basis... Luci
Took this pic of a large lizard on the trail today.
In Kauai they installed these special path lights so as to not interfere with the navigation on the Nene, or Hawaiian goose. This cane toad is taking full advantage of the opportunity to sit inside the bezel and snag insects.
Here is a fun fact: The cane toad secretes a poison that can be lethal to a dogs that get to close.
Rescued and spoiled rotten!
