CT-F9191 Cassette Deck Problem

The CT-F9191 was top of the Pioneer cassette line when new 75/76. Now I have seen many members here that own them and a lot of them have problems with them mine is in the same boat its in my I Will fix someday pile. On the plus side its built like a tank but the minus is its a old deck and they need some TLC and some work to get them back to full working order and you cant beat the looks.

Hi,

A newbie on cassettes...

How does the 9191 rank among Pioneer decks. I see that the 1250 is a great but someone rank them for me?

I got a 9191 and won't play at all and can't reverse or fast forward but the tape moves.

I am pretty sure I want to replace all 3 belts and perhaps some new tires. Where can I get these parts? Anyone selling from their stash?

Anyone trade or sell a copy of owners manual and service manual for 9191? I got some Sansui and Pioneer oweners and service manuals if would like to trade. I also have some audiophile recordings I have collected over the years from stores and Consumer Electronic Show.

Pioneers are only owners manual like the M-90, F-91 and PD-M90X and VSX-09TX (service manual).

Sansui are the usual 8080DB, 9090DB, G-8700DB, AU-9500. These are excellent PDF's from www.obsinc.com

For belts and pinchrollers for the 9191, here's a reliable source (I use him for my other Pioneer decks): http://www.vintage-electronics.cc/index.html

For the take-up idler (and a few belts and other stuff), try: http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/model.asp?modelNum=CTF9191

For service manuals try: http://www.stereomanuals.com/

I hope this helps.
