CV D5

Speakers: I've got a thing about speakers. Bought my first pair of Cerwin Vega (D5) speakers (need refoaming) to have a "party speaker" option.

Already have modern and vintage audiophile-ish speakers.
Axiom M5Ti, Tannoy Berkeley

They certainly will party. They have uses. If I run up on a pair of D9's I would have to bring them home, just because.

The D5 speakers were designed for more of a classical & jazz speaker. If you wanted a 12" CV party you should have bought the D7s.
Not that my D5s get much jazz or any classical...

So that would mean not so boomy bass, something CV's are criticized for? Sounds perfect. I'll refoam these. The lady, mid forties, was happy to hear that her "first stereo purchase" was going to be resurrected. Included in the high 2 figure selling price were a 20wpc receiver, CD player, and cassette player, all low-mid level Harmon Kardan.
