Denon AU-310 transformer for MC cart. Thoughts?

I have a line on a Denon AU-310 step-up transformer for a MC cartridge and am considering it. I am using the HOMC DL-110 but wouldn't mind the additional gain. These units appear to be rather rare as they were generally sold and used in Japan. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with this unit or a similar. I really don't hear much about S-U trannies here. Are there noise issues? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

Ok - Nevermind. Finally found some specs on the AU-310. Input impedance is 40 Ohms (probably to match the old DL-103). The HOMC DL-110's impedance is 160 Ohms, so it won't work at all.

If anyone has an older 103 (not the 103r) and would be interested in this unit, let me know.

Tom

From one of my earlier posts:

AU-310 – 1974 design, matches cartridges 40Ω or less, frequency response 20Hz-40kHz ±1dB (from the Denon graph, 50kHz is roughly -2dB), double shielded, ideal match with DL-103 (which it was often sold with) or DL-103R

Like all SUT's, it's designed for LOMC's. The DL-110 should be used only with MM inputs - MC inputs are too high gain, as are SUT/MM input combinations.
