Denon AVR 4806

Just picked up a Denon 4806 at three cents on the MSRP dollar. These things depreciate faster than a German luxury sedan but I digress. I bought it for 2 channel CD playback. Direct mode shuts off all speakers except for L-R fronts and sounds fantastic. I did not get the remote, which is a downer especially when replacements on ebay cost more than what I paid. Anyways, are there any other 4806 owners here?

I have the 4806 and I did not like the remote that came with it. I got a Denon rc-1077 and it does everything I want it to do.

LOL. That's about what I paid for my Yamaha RX-V1700, except I paid $1 per pound. It figures out near the same though in cents per MSRP dollar.

See if Denon has a smartphone remote control app, presuming you have a smartphone. If Denon does not there are some universal remote apps that may at least provide some functionality.

Good suggestion. A lot of the features can only be accessed through on screen menus. For example, optical input must be assigned to an audio output and that can only be done with remote control.. There are no front panel tuner controls, that is remote only as well.
