So I decided to clean up the 6100, it had some weird halo with the lights on the face so I took care of that as well.

The knobs cleaned up well and the halo shinning through the glass is gone.

Here’s the glass, you can’t tell from this pic but it’s really clean.

I was literally sitting in front of the bench, picked up the glass from behind me, when I turned I dropped it, haha, I........dropped........it. So much for turning in my application for the bomb squad.

I actually thought I would try something out. I sent McIntosh a message through their music app which i have on my phone. First thing this morning I had a reply from the parts department asking for further information, that’s pretty cool. Hopefully I’ll have this resolved quickly.

Expect a possible 6 month or so wait for glass. Audio Classics might have one in stock.

Tom Manley at mcintoshaudio shows he has two......do not throw any thing out until you get the new glass. You will need the metal plate surrounding the push buttons from the old glass.
