howdy there, I went to HomeDepot and picked up a pack of Fire and Sound Guard Mineral Wool by Corning to make bunch of acoustic panels - I know Corning 703 / 705 seem to be go to choice for insulation material in acoustic panels
The density is 2.5 lbs/ft^3 - comparable to Corning 703 ??? now that I have them setup at first reflection points ... I think it sounds great - but I honestly can't tell a huge difference, nigh and day? no!
I picked it up because it was $30/10 panels + $15 for 1"x3.5"x8' wood.
Will there be any major difference if I go with one of the expensive options? is density the only spec to go after?
my room layout for reference:
