Do real men like the Supremes?

I even forgot one -- Marvin Gaye!!!

Now..... who could forget Marvin Gaye??

He paved the way for Luther Vandross and Johnny Gill (who actually recorded on Motown back in the 80's/90's)

And then there was Rick James in 70's/80's.

Lionel Richie, and The Commodores too.

LOL, I'll keep you in check:banana:

Awesome thread to counterbalance the British wanker groups we wax on about much too often. While I lean toward Stax/Volt, there's some Motown that is undeniable. But here's some Volt gals for your listening pleasure where I reckon Dusty Springfield was listening:

I used to love them in the 60s kinda moved on to blues and rock in the 70s. But i did buy a best of LP a couple years ago and give it a spin every couple of months and the love is still there

Marvin Gaye & Aretha Franklin, I do still listen to them occasionally.
Motown?, only played on a vintage car radio. :D

Three pages in and you forgot Dionne Warwick :)

Saw Dianne Ross and the Supremes live in 1966, about the time they were no longer just the Supremes. Damn right I’m a fan

Yeah, I love Dionne too. Burt Bacharach's best alter ego.

Motown was awesome.

The fun is all gone, eh?
