I maybe wrong, but I have a fear they might be interfering with some really suddle sound that contributes to the overall greatness of the music that I am not even aware of, you can't hear it , but it's there.
Almost like believing in God, can't prove, see or touch God but I just believe and to me that matters.
So I guess I will always be grilles off.

My dog tends to take a lot of notice of the sound coming from my speakers especially when we are watching TV and has a habit of noseing and pushing at my woofers so mine stay on now for the most part.

Speakers have never had grills. so I guess Off would be the correct answer.

The living room speakers are grille on: flying cats, klutzy SO. Office Advents are grille off.

I made new ones. My KEF 104aB's grills turned to plastic powder in the mid 1980's.

On. I had them off until someone's brat paid a visit and put them back on when I heard the creature heading in my direction. They've been on ever since. No big deal since they are Martin Logan Motions and they match my ML electrostats better with the grilles on.

I keep my pants on and grilles off. When I first took them off I had intended to put them back on at some point and now cant find them so unless I make a set they stay as is.

Depends on the speakers. I listen both ways & some sound better with the grills, some worse, often it makes no difference... in the last instance I leave them on.

On. I hate dusting speakers, but I blow out the grills occasionally with compressed air.

Always on nothing prettier then vintage Walnut grills from the good old days! But if they come with no grills like my Leslie's they just sparkle

Long listening sessions or when I am showing the speakers to someone, I take the grills off. Short listening sessions or when there are kids running around, I leave the grills on.

I only own some humble large Advents from the mid-1970s. Most people wouldn't think they're anything special but they mean a lot to me. Which is to say, there's nothing impressive to show off under the grill and I've never noticed an appreciable difference keeping them off. Besides, I like the way they look with the grills on, and off looks a little too college dorm room for my tastes these days.
