I have 2 dual 601 turntables I need to replace the SM-840 motors in. What are the differences between the different versions of the 860 motor? One thread said I need the 860-2 but the -1 looks like it will fit too. The -4 has a different mounting plate but maybe that one can be made to work too my just swapping the stator like Montycat did in the thread below:

I can get an 860-1 and a -4 on ebay, can they both be made to work? Can anyone shed light on any differences between the versions? I don't want to order one then find I can't make it work.
