Hi all. I'm looking to purchase a complete LP set of the Nine Symphonies of Antonin Dvorak with Istvan Kertesz and the London Symphony Orchestra. I noticed there are two versions of this, one on Mercury (Murray Hill) and one on Decca. What's the difference between these two sets (aside from I believe the Mercury being a US pressing and Decca being a UK pressing)? Does one sound better than the other one (I suspect the Decca will sound better)?

Thanks

All Murray Hill records I've heard were awful, no matter what the original source recording. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe there were exceptions — but the Decca sound will be superb... and probably more natural sounding even than original Mercury pressings.

Decca decca decca ...

PS ... which is your favorite ... Dvorak's 9th, or his 5th?
(trick question) <G>

Truth be told, I'm more of a 7th kinda guy.
