Eico 2080 center channel circuit removal

I am recapping my 2080 and wanted to free up more space for hiding some caps underneath, but the wires coming from the center channel controller go right across the area I need to use. I have no plans on ever using the center channel and wondered if I could just remove the wires and jumper at the rear without affecting anything else.

I went ahead and removed the center channel wires running to the rear from the control, it freed up more room for my underside capacitors. I added screen stability resistors along with replacing most capacitors. I'm waiting on one can cap to arrive and then it will be time to power it up and see how I did.

After many hours of listening, I am really impressed with the sound of this amp. I'd say my only negative is the knobs are kind of cheap looking, small price to pay though since it really functions well. It is probably the coolest running of my tube amps also. I'd say my 3rd tube amp restoration has turned out a success!

Here is the finished product except for some minor cleaning of the face and knobs, it played flawlessly all weekend out in the garage while I was taking down the storm shutters.
