I had the great pleasure recently of hearing a wonderful young Detroit area jazz singer who goes by the name of Emmalee. I saw her at the fabulous London Chop House in Detroit, which was not the best place for her to perform in. Basically, none of the diners seemed to give a damn about her and her band. They were troopers, and the performance was just fantastic. I look forward to seeing her again later in the year, at a proper venue.
