Energy ESM-2

I have a set of ESM-2 speakers in great shape and sound pretty damned good! So a friend of mine wants some and found some, but his are badged ESM-2s..
Does anyone know the difference? What does the s mean?

A long shot but maybe "S" means shielded? When ESM's were current, the home theater phenomena was underway and CRT's were the mainstay TV's.

You'd think with a company the size of Energy that there would be more information on this

Pull the drivers and see if the part numbers are different. You can also look for bucking magnets on the back.

Shielded makes sense.

On a side note, I love my ESM-3 pair, the only bookshelves I kept, and I had some nice ones.
