EV Patrician IV's

I've been offered a pair of EV Patrician IV's in trade of my Oracle tt. They are the utility cabs without the fancy shell (the owner has the blueprints to build the outer shells). Anyone have any experience with these monsters?

Might be my next project for the winter :)

Hope the wife bites :D

Well I e-mailed Kerry from the Vintage Audio Traders page about the Patrcian (seems he knows a thing or tow about them) and he said

"EV IV's sound great in a good room. Powerful and natural sounding bass, wide dynamic range, good tone, smooth treble ( esp. w/ T-350's ). The crossover should be rebuilt probably. Or, better yet, build a new one. IMO it's best to use an active ( or passive ) Hi-Z network and multi-amp.

Of course, matched pairs of Patrician IV's are expensive ( though they seem reasonably priced to me, compared to any current " statement " speakers )."

I'm going to check them out tonight, if they fit the bill I'm off and running. The wife is a little nervous...have you seen the utility version of these?
