External Illumination

My back-up cassette deck does not have a backlight or a light above the tape, so i am searching for a gooseneck, mini, corded lamp that I can clip to the outside "lip' of the deck (about 3" away from the well center) and illuminate the tape well and cartridge while it is playing. I would like the smallest possible bulb and housing, to be unobtrusive. Do you have any recommendations on this?

Hi, there's a company called littlite https://littlite.com/, great products and different sizes, I use them on my turntable and reel to reel.

Thanks, Gustavo. I contacted Littlite, to ask them if they had what I want: A clip-on 2-5W light with 4-6" goose neck that plugs into a wall socket. I really would like a tiny light so I could clip it onto the front of the unit without it being a visual distraction. I appreciate your help. I'll let you know what they say. Paul

Sounds good Paul, have you considered a internal led mod? It's not that hard....

No, Gustavo, I had not considered this. It sounds great, though. I'd like to hear more about it. I don't know whether you need them, but here are a few photos of the well of my JVC KD-10:P2180073_01.JPG P2180075_01.JPG P2180076_01.JPG

Well, is an standard procedure, you got to take the faceplate off and the cassette door, try to find a small led strip, warm white or blue one, that depends your preferences, then look on the power supply +5V or less if necessary use some resistors to low the voltage to +3V. Then try to find a sweet spot and use some double side tape, it important to be sure there's no obstruction on the cassette path.
