Hi AK folks! I have been a long time lurker on this site and thanks to you all I have been able to obtain very valuable information on many occasions. I sincerely appreciate all the time and effort you guys have put into AK!

Like most of you I have been through many components/systems. I'll list them, along with a comment if I can, in hopes that someone wants to discuss any of them.

Receivers:
Harman Kardon PM640 (kinda warm and gentle)
Some old silver-face JVC
Marantz 2230 (my favorite)
Newer high-end Denon (powerful, boring, sterile)
Yamaha RX-396 (a little bright but great, cheap, low-end bpc)
Yamaha RX-596 (bright and forward, awesome)
Nakamichi Ta-4 (a beast, extremely neutral)
Nakamichi Ta-2 (very neutral)

Speakers:
Magnepan MMG (the usual Maggie comments apply)
Magnepan SMG, twice
Magnepan model MG-1 maybe?
Janszen (sweet and unique highs)
Some old Sansui with horns
B&W DM302 (bright, sweet & buttery)
ADC Soundimage 5002 (unique, 3-D sound)
Some Polk towers
DCM CX-27 (awesome rockers!)
Minimus 7, twice (a generically great little speaker)
Monitor Audio Radius 90 (classic British sound, I think?)
Klipsch RB-5ii (voluptuous and nearly perfect - to me)

Sources:
Technics SL-1500 turntable (first turntable so hard to compare, but seems awesome)
Various nondescript CD players
Rocketfish bluetooth receiver (seems good to me?)
Nakamichi cassette player, model unknown

95% of the above was obtained through scores, which to me is half the fun.

I look forward to being part of this great group of people and thanks again for all the help you've unknowingly provided!

Newer high-end Denon (powerful, boring, sterile)

Everyone has long, LONG since moved on from my little thread here and this is ridiculous minutia but when I said Denon sounds boring, I just want to make it clear that I am simply expressing my own opinion. The last thing I want to do as a new guy is give the impression that I am of the "my opinion is fact" mindset because I am not. I completely respect and value all other opinions whether they agree with my own or not.

I apologize, Denon fans, I should've used some other term or just not used it at all.

There, now I can sleep at night.
