You have to admit that Musk is right - it IS more fun that instead of a hunk of concrete for payload,
he is launching with a red Tesla car playing Bowie's Space Oddity

The video from the SpaceX site is pretty sweet. Even if the tune isn't "Space Oddity".

Ya' gott'a wonder if Elon Musk was a Heavy Metal fan?

From Huffington Post:

A third booster was expected to land on a floating platform in the Atlantic. But instead of capturing a successful landing, the onboard camera appeared to show smoke before cutting out entirely. More than 45 minutes after the launch, SpaceX had not provided an update on the fate of the center booster.

It may not have been perfect, but it was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.

Oh well...

Speaking to reporters at the Kennedy Space Center, Elon Musk says the Falcon Heavy's center core did not survive its descent to SpaceX's drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
