still got the hum? I note you have it awefully close to some newer equipment, one with a laser...older marantz I find are efficient amplifiers of stray environmental RFI noise...

also, check out the phono board...are there 2 22uF 'tants in there? get em out.

I think the 2270 benefits from the same phono mod as the 2230 and I have a twist on that even I found that works.

Nice pick up mbob. Glad you got the Marantz receiver you’ve been lusting for. Are those Paradigm Monitor 70P’s? They have the powered woofers which should shoulder some of the low frequency burden for the 2270. Agree with Fairlane that they likely sound great... very efficient also. I’ve had a pair since 1999 that were my main speakers until just a couple years ago. Can’t part with them so doing rear duty for my surround. Love the light treatment on your 2270! Nice job.
