Fisher 202-T preamp with Fisher 300, will they work together?

If the 300 your asking about is the Stereo SA-300, Sure, shouldn't be a problem. The 202-T is a tuner preamp. As it was originally designed for the Extinct Crosby Multiplexer, you'll have to use an external GE/ZENITH format Multiplexer like the FISHER MPX 100 or the console version MPX-200. But any brand external multiplexer will work with it.

As the 202-T has the preamp built in just run the OUTPUT from the 202-T to the SA-300 inputs and have fun with it. The 202-T has the older Narrow Bandwidth Ratio Detector. It'll work with the MPx'er, but for optimal FM STEREO changing it to the newer Wideband Ratio Detector will enable better Stereo reception as outlined in Dave G.'s thread on FM Multiplexers in the Stickies section under Technical threads. But as is it works fine.

Here's a pic I took of a 202-T, with a Sherwood M3ax MPX'er, connected to the amp on a SX-1010. Separation was about 30db from the MPX'er (it had not been aligned nor had the 202-T). I had just done a recap of it for Wharfcreek and was testing the MPX connections as at the time instructions weren't available. The ratio detector had not been changed. This was about 2012. Note the cables in and out of the 202-T to an from the MPX.
