Hello all, I picked up a pair of Ohm L speakers today and they have an impedance rating of 4 ohms. When driving them with my Fisher 400, is there a switch on the receiver for a 4 ohm load, or can it handle it as is? Thanks, Nat.

If the 400 is like the 500, there should be a 4 ohm speaker tap.

Are you the ratfink that beat me to those Craigslist Ohm L's?:scratch2:

I'll check for the tap. I am most certainly the ratfink who grabbed those CL speakers. Turned out to be in mint shape and still have the surrounds intact. I am quite frankly stunned that I was able to grab these as I thought for sure they would be scooped up.

The 400 has the impedance change wire on the back panel next to......Wait.....Here it comes......."THE SPEAKER CONNECTIONS". Just change them from 8 or 16 oHms to 4oHms.

Keep a VERY CLOSE EYE on the 400 for a while to make sure it doesn't get too hot, and do some damage to it.
