Just picked this up. supposably it has been in this family since purchased new. Any one ever see one like it? The top does not open It is just the fisher 500c in the front. It has 2 EV speakers (see pics) each with its own adjustment dial. I cant find much on it.

Looks like an old RCA Victor (TV??? See the cover for the CRT??) Cabinet that was re-purposed with the 500c. Note that the only Receivers of the era of the 400/500c/800c that were installed in a console were the 800c in the 63/64 Executives and the 400 in the little seen much less sold GOTHAM 400. There is rumor that there was a 800c GOTHAM 800 but no one has seen one.

THIS IS NOT A FISHER CONSOLE!

Definitely not from the Fisher factory but it does look kinda neat... looks like someone put a lot of work into modifying that cabinet to make it what it is. Workmanship looks rather good as well.

Still have the little "75 watts" sticker on the 500C, cool. Don't see those often.

I bet those EV drivers could be made to sound pretty nice, seems like they're well suited for open baffle use.

Put a proper fm antenna on it, that loop antenna on there is for an old-style uhf tv. It's missing an output tube (one of 4 big ones, right side). But you probably already knew that. Hope it's in the cabinet somewhere, those are high-demand items.
If that thing works, the right antenna will make your fm come alive. That's a unique & cool piece of craftsmanship, you'd never know it was a tv at one time.
