If you follow the weather news you know the Midwest and South have been deluged with rain. In this morning's news:

  • Rushing water swept away a car, drowning a woman in Missouri.
  • A 2-year-old girl in Tennessee died after being struck by a heavy, metal soccer goal post blown over by high winds.
  • Rescuers in northwest Arkansas continued Sunday to look for an 18-month-old girl and a 4-year-old boy who were in a vehicle swept off a bridge by floodwaters in Hindsville.
  • In northwest Arkansas, a 10-year-old girl drowned in Springdale and the body of a woman who disappeared riding an inner tube Saturday was found in a creek in Eureka Springs.
  • A couple fishing in a lake in Fredericktown, MO at dusk on Sunday was swept over a spillway in high water. The wife swam to shore but her husband was stuck clinging to a tree in fast water. 911 received a call at 9:30 pm and it was 11:30 before rescuers were able to locate and rescue the man in fast water amongst the trees.
Tragic accidents, but perhaps each one of them was preventable!

Don't drive into rushing water.

Don't let your kids play outside in severe storms.

And for Pete's sake don't try to go NIGHT FISHING in raging flood waters!

An inner tube in a flood? Seriously?

Be safe y'all.
