Fostex Dust caps destroyed by 2 year olds!

MannyE

Exterminate!
My horns use Fostex 108 drivers (4inch) and about a year go, my kids got to them and oushed the dust caps in.

The manufacturer has graciously offered to replace them for me, but it seems so easy to do. cut them off and apply new dust caps or horns (I think I want to apply little horns instead of the dust cap)

Anyone know how to do this? And where to find the parts?

I wouldn't do it. It will mess up the off-axis response which has always been one of the great things about those particular drivers (I know...I own four of them). If the manufacturer is willing to repair or supply you with factory caps, I'd go for it!

That sounds like good advice. They are in a pair of Ed's Horns. Ed told me he would fix them for me if I covered the shipping.

Talk about great service! Hand built and you can pick up the phone and call the designer any time! These are amazing speakers for the money.
