G8000 - phone stage sounding flat....?

Long return, friends!

Should read PHONO stage!!!

I took my knowledge of vintage electronics and started applying them to arcade machines and now pinball machines! Now I want to listen again and I'm noticing my phone stage on my lovely g8000 is starting to sound a bit flat...

Fm is very clear, a lot of highs but its like my phono has a natural filter over it...

I have the tone defeat on..

Anywhere else I should look?

The turntable is a ps-x600 with a dl110

Am I losing my mind? My ears???

how does it sound with the defeat off? or did you mean the tones are turned off?

Have you rebuilt the receiver? The phono board has some VD1212 diodes that should be replaced as well as plenty of electrolytic caps that should be replaced by now.
