glass 6SF5?

I've recently acquired a pair of Challenger ch18's, just one tiny problem they use 6sf5 tubes for the two inputs, and the only ones I have found thus far have been metal. Anyone know if glass versions were ever made?

GE's Essential Characteristics lists a GT so I would say yes, there are glass versions.

Jim Cross - vacuumtubesinc.com - has 'em for $4.50, AES is $4.90. I probably have a few, filed under "6V misc".

Depending on the gain at that point, a glass one might need a shield.

I would prefer to use metal as they have a built-in shielding effect.
