I don't mind at all. If using KT88's I would do two things. Use a bigger choke, 200ma would be best. Mine is either 175ma or 200ma, I can't remember, and it's fine. The other thing I would change from the original schematic is the cathode resistors. At 880, they run WAY too cold. It works, it sounds ok, but way over-biased. With the voltage I have I ended up with 470ohm wirewound, 25 watt, for exactly 70% of max plate dissipation. Max pd being 42 watts.
It's a great circuit, you're going to love it.
