I havent been on AK in a long time but....

I stopped at a goodwill this morning while getting gas cans filled to mow my lawn for the first time this year.

Well the grass hasnt been cut yet, but we added the item pictured to the living room.

Ive never owned anything with tubes before and I know i shouldnt plug it in. Time do do some research.....

Beautiful mid-century piece! I bet it weighs a ton too. I recently bought a much smaller Magnavox tube console and even that weighs ~80 pounds.

that's a stunning piece! There was a console at my local GW this morning but it was made entirely of plastic and had only an 8 track player and TT.
Then at SA there was a Soundesign console, TT only and a pair of 4" speakers, left it there even though they only wanted 80 for it.

It looks good in the room!

Need to polish the brass and maybe oil the wood and it’ll look even better. It even came with a custom fitted dust cover stuffed in one of the cabinets.

I think ill try to find a local professional to take. Look at it and see if we can get it working.

Very nice indeed.
More than likely someone has already tried turning it on as it made it's way through the thrift process. Otherwise, yeah, gotta bit a litel careful with that. You could start by testing all the tubes I guess. You will probably need to pull out the main section and take it somewhere for servicing.

Now that is a cool looking cabinet. Very nice, and should sound good when restored too. Maybe a good candidate for a Bluetooth or simple aux in mod as well.

I'd like to see some better pics of that pull-out panel. Is that an equalizer in the middle?

Yes it is some sort of equalizer....

That's got to be one of the first, if not the first, examples of an equalizer on a consumer product (plus EQ presets).
