JBL L100T with JBL Studio Monitor 4406s on top.
New Large Advents with B&O S60s on top of them.

Just hooked up to a modern Yamaha home theater receiver as this is my gaming/home theater room.

    Cool!
Neat way to drive your system...just add VR and we'll never hear from you again?
Do the advent and jbl stacks argue endlessly with each other? <grin>

    haha,

The L100T and 4006 sound similar, but the 4406 is a bit more tame sounding and doesnt really have deep bass at all.

the Advent has the best deepest bass, but other than that it sounds like a wool blanket was tossed over it when you A/B.

The B&O and VERY detailed in the mids and highs and the bass is very nice. It goes deep enough for most any music.

For my uses though, the L100T does everything right.

You wonder if the various ported cabinets are acting as Helmholtz resonators or bass traps for frequencies from other speakers. Of course, moving them physically out of the room would kind of negate the whole speaker-switch approach... Maybe just light 'em all up at once!

If they do I certainly cant tell, the L100T's absolutely smash the room to bits when they are going. Sounds like you are at a concert where you can physically feel the bass affecting your internal organs.
