Gun Porn

Dang stray guns...they do that...follow you home. Then you gotta clean them, feed them and keep 'em safe.

Well since this thread has included the big guns, here is an interesting one, on permanent loan from the military and operated by the City Of Juneau public works dept for avalanche control. It is fired sometimes right over the city to let loose the snow load before it has a chance to build too heavy and take out half the town.

Gun laws my ass. I'm getting one of these ASAP! Mfer's rolling through the neighborhood knocking pictures off the wall in residential homes via subs cranking at 150 dB, loitering, 110+ dB parties during weeknights, and other assorted ****ery will grind to an immediate halt. :) By the time the police show up, I will have rolled it into my garage and thrown a tarp over it.

Yamaki, you are very close. Early Colt SP-1. Crazy as soon as it was in my hands it was like holding an old friend. I cant explain it. Instantly has become my favorite. I have / had lots of neat firearms but this took side right next to my first M1.

And KDAC, me too, admitted glockaholic.

So what's the best weapon for home defense? Folks where I live say it's the AR-15 but that seems too cumbersome in tight quarters. Plus you might destroy part of your house and the neighbor's as that thing has such tremendous penetration power.

This:
For me it would be a pump 12g with 00 buckshot .

Best entry level bang for the buck is a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 with an 18" barrel. Easy to use, dependable, and the sound they make when you rack them will stop most people.

Nice piece!

There are personal defense rounds that go in AR15's but it is a bit cumbersome in a full size with a 16" barrel. You can get shorter ones with much shorter barrels. My preferred home defense weapon is a .45 ACP with personal defense ammo in it. My second favorite is a 12 ga. Mossberg pump action shotgun with a short barrel.

An AR 15 makes a very good defensive weapon. Less cumbersome than a pump action shotgun, easier to use under stress, and of course significantly more capacity.

There is ammo designed for home defense if you are worried about over penetration.

We picked up a group of S&W model 64-5 that were retired from the RCMP when they switched over to 9mm. They're scattered in every room of the house.

Stainless steel 38 service revolvers. 3" barrel (yea, a 3" barrel), ramp/service sights. These were a special run for the RCMP contract.

Simple. Always loaded/ready. No thinking required. Pick-up. Point. Shoot.

Have a few 8 round pump and auto loader 12ga in various closets should things get really hot.

I should say..... DO NOT leave loaded firearms around your house if you have any possibility of children being in your home! There is no possibility of children being in our home.

For us they have to get thru the EWS, if that happens, 19 MOS immediate threat, get to safe 10.5 5.56 with PRO & M951 to clear / secure AO. I have a few shotties but have yet to eguip with a light, never ending projects. At least twice a year I train with the wife for this scenario so it's become memory, cell phone, safe room and E&E, shooting is last resort.

The bummer side is our place is so chill, nothing happens here. We like it like that ;).

20180328_063158.jpg Hey
Here my version of home defense.
S&W model 36 3 inch barrel 38 spl. I put those ugly ass bianchi grips on it for more comfortable carry. If I remember it's loaded up with some hot ass Corbon rounds.
I originally bought it for my mom. Back then she lived alone out on the farm. She has since passed away. I luckily got it back when split up her estate. Eric
