Gun Porn

I just enjoy shooting. I've got another sniper grade rifle being built by my friends. I'll have 4K, into the rifle build, and I'm waffling. All over the place on the glass. Was intending on purchasing the " RIVIC" ? Out of Cody Wy, GunWerks owns the company.

I've heard a rumor all the scopes are about to be recalled. I still may make the purchase, as any company who's willing to stand behind their product for EVERY scope produced, is stand up, in ,my book.

The other brands I'm looking up are Tangent Thea?. Us to be US optics, a Canadian Corp bought them out. At roughly 5k a copy they better never miss.! Lol.

Their are so many good scopes on the market, these days, we live
in a time of cutting edge tech. Our rifles are literally lazer beams, if us shooters do our Trig right, and apply solid shooting fundamentals.

Bought a Ruger Mini 14 ranch a while back. Thought I'd love it but nope it's just not my cup of tea. Traded even up for a S&W M&P15 Sport II optics ready rifle. Comes with a 30 rd mag, Caldwell mag charger and cloth M&P case. Had the original version of the Sport and it was nothing but reliable.

Mini -14s. I've owned a couple, not I'm at least thirty years. My second agency issued full auto minis with 10 30 round mags. Being relitively new I was about to ask what was up.

The sheriff looks at me and says, son you just keep their heads down, we'll get their eventually. Was a resident Deputy in NE California, Modoc County, was the " resident up in the Newell/ TuleLake area. Zero back up unless a CHP just happened to be within 100 miles.

I added another ten 30 rounders. Never a problem, up their. The ranchers farmers were their if I needed them. Good people in that area.

The mini's a decent rifle, well built, not extremely accurate, but good enough for solid hits to 300y.

So do ya like the M&P rifle? Seems to me you made a decent trade.

a question for the powder burner crowd...
Do you guys have to deal with "flyers", errant shots, without known reason?
I'm a pellet rifle rodent plinker. I've got the rifle totally dialed in,.. and then, suddenly, I'll just send one hooking or slicing. Nothing too drastic, but, enough to make me wonder WTHeck?

Yeah Bud's had a sale on the M&P so I have to cough up a whole 9 bucks. The first one I had was very good and much more accurate than the mini 14. Already have a Nikon 223 scope for it maybe pick up decent red dot for it.

Ummmm, we'll, it's all relative. Their a fine rifle. If it's all I had, I'd make it work. I'm just old school have Colts, Colt is the industry standard, the rifle EVERYBODY espires to be. A few have achieved COLT status, with a lot of hard work and commitment to their customers.

I also have Noveske's and Voltor's, customers built rifles.

The difference I think is practical application. I push my rifles hard, often for years. Which is why I have these specific rifles. Regarding your rifle, a couple things I would upgrade the bolt to a auto BCG, and upgrade the recoil system. I like the A5 Vltor set up, their are newer perhaps better upgrades these days. It's simple I like heavy recoil springs, and used what called a enhanced bolt carrier group. Hangs the bolt up a skosh longer dumping more gas, before UN lugging for recoil. Then the heavier spring with a heavy buffer just really takes all the bark out of the recoil.

Sorry to get technical. Different guns different needs is what it,comes down to.

Hope this helps.

Check your pellets. It may be a casting error (nicks, unbalanced round, short or lopside pellet skirt) or it could have been a nick on the ball.

I have the Nikon M308 on my AR10. I had a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x42 on my AR15 but bought one of Vortex's Strikefire II green/red dot 1X units and like that one a lot better.

I have a mini 30, and shot a couple mini 14s. It's like apples to oranges to compare them to an ar15. It was really cool when 7.62x39 ammo was really cheap.

I have a couple ar15s now. One was a cheap as hell PSA kit that was $300, add your own lower. It's reliable, but I need to try again to see if it's accurate. I think it may have barrel issues. The other is a S&W M&P tactical, which has been outstanding! I can put a bullet up the nostril of your choice with that thing.

Just a thought, consider this. M4s are a very consistent shooting rifle. I'm wondering if barrels set properly. Perhaps pull the fore stock and loosen and retighten your barrel. Torque then back the nut off so your gas tube fits properly.

Lastly what sights are you running?

It was an assembled upper from PSA. I don't have the wrench for the barrel nut. I might try that if I can't get a group out of it with the new optic.

The optic I had on there was a sig romeo 5 red dot, full cowitness. Also had a cheapo utg buis. I decided that the sig dot would be better on my ar9 because it's smaller. Works well on the ar9. Took the vortex strikefire off the ar9, which also worked well, and stuck it on the ar15. It's lower 1/3 cowitness. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. Front sight is just a standard A2. I'll post back when I get a chance to shoot again.

The Akdal MKA 1919 is a gas operated, semi-automatic shotgun that resembles the M16 rifle and mimics the layout and placement of some of the controls. It was created by Turkish company Akdal Arms. image.jpeg

It’s a 10.5 inch. I’m waiting to see what happens here. If and that’s a big IF things go our way I’m going the SBR route this one. One of my boys is running a 12.5 and both are great reliable shooters. Love ringing steel with them.
