Assume something doesn't sound right with a speaker. The max-treble, min-bass doesn't really give enough info to work on.

What are recommendations for testing the individual drivers? (leaving crossovers out of the question for now). I assuming the need for a multi-meter, etc.

I can tear down, build up, repair computers like crazy but I've never messed with "electricity" before. figure starting with speakers and working backwards might be a bit safer.

(maybe it's because of the guy on the bus in basic training, who was bypassing tech school, but still had the shakes from an accident at his radio station. or maybe the hole in the side of the C-130 when they dropped a wrench in an open circuit? Funny how thing like that stick with you!)
