As you may know, I have this very nice looking and sounding Technics system as my main system with a Harman Kardon 330c just to provide a bit of peripheral "volume" to the sound:
I took the whole lot to uni in September and now Im back for the Christmas hols, all I could realistically bring back was the HK and the Mission 761 used with it. So I set it up in my room with a bit more science than I usually bother with, i.e. speaker placement and distance and put some Tom Petty on, followed with some Beethoven. All I can say is wow, the imaging is amazing, the highs, mids and lows are incredible - tight and very controlled, very clear but with almost tube-like warmth - just the right amount. Im not even using a DAC, thats straight out of the laptops headphone jack! Just those few songs (and the hours of listening in the few days since Ive been home ) have convinced me to sell the Technics, even though I love how they look and sound and spend a bit more on the HK, maybe a full re-cap and a good DAC. Heres a few pictures of the well used 330c:
No real point to this post I suppose, just wanted to share my Eureka moment
