He who has the most toys wins?

MOST TOYS

hey,you guys just saved me,thanks, wife told me no one has this
many decks ,tuners, speakers etc.the proof is in and ihave been found not guilty!!!when we bite the big one there is going to be one hell of a garage sale!!!

hey, I'm feeling better...I only have about 3 R2Rs, so I'm a relative model of restraint! ;)

Thx for the offers to 'help' me - I am going to have to start shedding a few soon, but, but... its so HARD!

That was an interesting point about the average watts per channel - I hadn't thought about that. I guess those TOTL and near-TOTL models are skewing the numbers a bit.

For inquiring minds, here my inventory of receivers....mebbe a collage pix later. Anyone know what the KLH 27 rated RMS output was?

CUlater,

Great listing of all your receivers - got some real gems in there.

However, I think you know you have a 'vintage audio gear problem' when it takes an Excel spreadsheet to keep tabs on it all.

You guys really crack me up, but honestly, I reckon that if I had some surplus time and money I'd most likely find myself with a room full of old gear like radioactive's ;)

Well my back is gone for sure since I just won a CR-2040, that bad boy must weigh in at 50 or more pounds. Sure gonna look purty when I'm finished with her.

Lost count...

At least 50 sets of speakers, about 10-12 TT, 10 receivers, 1 power amp, 4 pre amps, half dozen cassette decks, philips portable TT with attached speakers. Maybe 20-30 various speaker components/parts without cabinets.

After a while I gave up trying to keep track of things. I have one full bedroom at home and another full bedroom in storage.

Once my garage is built it will be all together and I can get a handle on things.

I am vigilant in selling off stuff, don't have much space... but I find so much stuff, poking around and/or having it shoveled my way otherwise, that I've probably been through 100 receivers, 50-60 pairs of speakers, 60-75 turntables, 20 cassette decks, a half dozen RTRs, and a handful of CD players in the last 4 years...

The real high points? Finding an awesome pair of JBL C36 Viscount speakers at a Goodwill; discovering what a StereoTech 1200 receiver is after finding it at a junk store and buying it, thinking at the time "hmm, THIS looks hefty..."... finding a pair of JBL L100s and discovering that behind the grilles, the driver set looked almost NEW; having someone GIVE me a nearly-working Harman-Kardon Award A-300 tube integrated amp... hearing just how INCREDIBLE the old Marantz DS930 speakers could sound, hooked to a good ol' Kenwood KA5100 integrated amp...

Regards,
Gordon.
