headphone users? what cans do you have?

I have several headphones, but I keep returning to my Grado SR60i fitted with over the ear G cushion pads (found in their higher end lineup).

i recently added some sennheiser hd800's to my stable. they are super dupont resonator modded. i love these so much. they make a perfect all rounder and has some of the best sounding bass and top-end i ever heard from a headphone and i went through a good amount of different dynamics, planers and, electrostatics in the past.. i been just really enjoying them and so far the hd800 been exceeding my expectations.

These are what I have in order of preference:
Sennheiser HD 800
Sennheiser HD 600
Hifiman HE560
PSB M4U2
Grado 125

I don't buy much audio gear but the HD800s are the best audio buy I've made in the last 5 years. Before them I used the HD600s daily for about 15 years.

I'm tough on cords for some reason. They usually only last about a year or two. That's stupid expensive with the HD800s.

Philips SHP9500S.

Bought brand new for $55 at Newegg. Very open sounding, very AKG-like with more bottom end than the Q701 and a similar overall sound but not quite as revealing of textures in the recording. VERY nice for $55 new.

DT880 Premium 250Ohms, DT770 Pro 80's, ATH-M50 (removable cable modded..after breaking stock cord) and M50X, Sony MDR-V6 (modded to removable cable last week because I lost my patience with the stock coiled cable hanging up on stuff), Pioneer SE-A1000, Griffin woodtones

Another person to buy a set of Philips SHP9500S.

Also from Newegg, but $65.00 CDN. Upgraded the aux cable with a new 8ft ANKER Soundline.

Man, I'm out of control but keeping it cheap.

Between Sunday and today I think I have 7 or 8 new pairs headphones and/or earbuds. One pair was used, the rest are new but most were largely discounted.

Plug 'em in, I say!

I think the K240s work exceptionally well on less complicated stuff. I absolutely think they are one of the best phones I've ever heard at stuff with just a few instruments going on... string quartets? I'd take the K240s over the Q701s or the 598 or the 9500s etc. Amazing when you think that the 240s are about 1/3 or 1/4 the price of the Q701s or the 598s.

Not my very first choice for big rock production type stuff, but definitely not bad at all.

Cans:
Sennheiser HD650
Fostex TH-500RP
Grado RS2e

Amp:
Burson Soloist

Sources:
Emotiva ERC-3 CD Player
Music Hall MMF-7.1 with Ortofon Bronze
Various DACs (Oppo, Emotiva, Audioengine)
Burson and the Ortofon Bronze I really would like next but going to let the RED 2m go for a little longer. The guy at the shop said I should change it once a year if I play one recored a day. I play like 10 a day so I should change it next week lol.
