Hello and a question to the gurus!

Hi all,

Wow....a ...a....Sansui forum....am I dreaming!? Nice to meet y'all. I am very excited lately as I am building my first analog system with a VPI table and Ortofon X5-MC cartridge......and of course the tunes will be soaring from my 6060 and SP-2000 speakers.
I had the 6060 repaired a while back as it was powering up but nothing else.

Does anyone know about the phono stage....anything at all?
I am considering a NAD PP2 or a tube pre-amp for the turntable.
I know the tape out has a tape buffer as the gain is not controlled by the volume control. My friend stated this was usually found on higher end equipment.

So gald to come across everyone here.

sincerely,
Doctor Cilantro

Welcome to AK!

For phono preamps, I'd suggest the Rega Fono or the Musical Fidelity, or even the Project Phono Box SE.

The Rega is the biggest sleeper, absolutely killer sound for the money. :D
