The quad 606 tends to take on characteristics of the preamp. It's flexible and laid back, not too assertive with its own agenda. It blends REALLY well with the CJ preamp.

Thanks, I get it now. Well, poor old me, I still use a 33 with my Quad setup. Just shows how lousy my ears really have become, I think it's wonderful!
