Hi all I have a complete pioneer rig with a SA8500ii amplifier. I have connected an SL1200 Technics turntable and I am plagued with mains hun after I crank the volume past 11 o clock. The hum is only only on the input the turntable is connected.
The grounding wire to from the amp to the turntable had no effect, neither did connecting the amp to my domestic earth system. The hum decreased when I carried out the self grounding modification to the turntable.
I am at my wits end. What is the best method of grounding the amp, I cannot knock an earth spike in the ground as per the Pioneer manual.
Is there a product that will killl the hum entirely?
