Help needed diagnosing PS Audio DLIII with faint hiss in R channel

The PS Audio Digital Link III is a very nice sounding DAC, especially at the used prices they can be had for.

I have lived with mine for about 4 years, with a very faint high frequency hiss in the right channel. It really isn't that noticeable, but I think I would listen to it more if I fixed it.

Opened her up yesterday (forgot to take photos), and the right channel PCB area had a slight bit of that brownish glazing, that turns a bit thick and sticky when electronics cleaner is sprayed on it. Leaky little capacitor?

There two DR-2G-12 semiconductors in it (looks like one per channel), that seems to be the major amplification piece. Is this a transistor or an Opamp? PSA says the unit has no opamps, but I have read that it actually does, and these seem to be the only component that could be it. Not sure how to take the case off (will post photos soon).

I'm an electronics newbie, just learning how to solder and read a schematic. Mostly I would like to figure out what is making the hiss.
