Help! VU Meter Adjustment (video)

Working on this Pioneer CT-F8282 and as you can see in the video, the left VU meter is pegged most of the time. However, after some switch fiddling, it calms down for a bit. Then goes crazy again.

I have cleaned the switches and pots multiple times. Does this still look lime dirty switches or is there some sort of calibration to be done here?

Any help would be appreciated...

whatever you clicked last lends a clue as it looked fine after that ... maybe a cap leaking dc .

While there can be other causes, that is a classic symptom of a dirty record/play switch.

Operate the record function a number of times and see if it makes a difference.
