Help With 2SA906 Replacement in Differential Amp

Sansui AU-317 has a noisy left channel. Traced it down to TR05 in the Control Amp. Is a good replacement for the 2SA906 a KSA992? Should I replace TR03 also because of being a differential amp?

Yes.

Yes - and I think it makes sense to match them (TR03 & TR05) if you can. (watch your pin-outs )

Hi,

On Mouser, I see the 512-KSA992FATA and the 512-KSA992FBU... Maybe one has to do with multiple or full packs of 1000s, but I see single prices, too...

If look more carefully, you will see it is the packaging options, loose vs on paper tape for auto insertion, so it is lead formed, both the same part electrically.
BU = bulk
ATA = ammo pack
for you order the bulk version unless you want lead formed, 3 leads side by side 0.1" apart

I'm about to order these too for another unit here (later I'll open a thread) which has noisy TR's.

If may I ask one more info, C09 and C10 (in the schem. above) must be kept same capacitance value, right? Thanks again.

I'd leave C05,C09 the same values (assume C06,c10 for the other channel not shown) and use Nichicon UES bi-polar ecaps, 647-UES1H100MPM
While you are at it, might think to replace TR01,TR07, as well, you can use ksa992 and ksc1845
