Help with ID on these speakers

OK everyone, a buddy of mine has a pair of old Altecs and JBL’s he acquired because the owner just wanted them gone. In other words, free. I told him if anybody could shed light on these things, it would be my fellow AKers. So, what we would like to know is the model and if they are worth restoring. Not to flip, but to keep. Thanks!!

Yeah, too big for me. Plus from what little I’ve read, those beasts need the proper electronics to really sing which I don’t have.

A lot of pro systems these day use equalizers as part of the system prior the amp. JBL line arrays have equalizers and processors that control all kind of factors and can be controlled from the mix position out in the house. Big money stuff.

Well, he got them for nothing (both pair) so he could sell one and use the proceeds for some electronics. I think I read somewhere the Altec Valencia’s pair nicely with tube gear? Personally, those are the pair I’d keep...
