Help with upgrade please!

You could always do like they do on the Yamaha CA-400 integrated amp. Just hardwire a "Y" internally, and connect the "new" pre-out to the rec out jacks. (Disconnect whatever's there now.)

On the schematic, look at the upper-right corner, where the high/low filter is. You'll see the pre-out split, or "Y". Then, on the left side, a little farther down, you'll see how those two connect to the pre-out jacks and main-amp-in simultaneously. Pre-out is the red circle, main-in is the blue circle.

I just thought of something ironic. Notice that my image is called "corrected". Thats because the original jpeg for the CA-400, that's floating around the internet, has a few "typos". They accidently show the pre-out connected to the Tape A REC out jacks . . . which is exactly what you want to do.

Note also, that the Tuner/Aux inputs are reversed for those using this to repair a CA-400.
