High temperature adhesive for desoldering pump repair

I'm rather surprised at the cost of some Hakko replacement parts.

I slammed the cord of my 888 in one of my workbench drawers a while back;
Replacement cord= $44.07USD, Replacement (complete) iron=$78.77USD

yeah I looked at that closely when I had to fork over for the heater in the 808. It was around 75 bucks, buying an FR300 would have been more than $300.

and that is a bit rich for something you could likely replace with some microphone cable. Heck, you could probably buy a cheap knock-off iron and steal the cord from it for less than that.

It's not surprising to me that prices on parts are on the gouging level. Try pricing a screw for an appliance... I see $4.53 for ONE! I could see making you buy a bag of 10 or something, but geesh! Ever price a part at a car dealer? Ouch!

That was probably the best $75.00 even spent. The 808 is clearly a better tool than the FR300. - Chris
