How many Amps are the MC40's capable of>?

The MC40 is 40 watts into 4, 8, or 16 ohms. You can use Ohm's law to figure amps into whatever speaker impedance you have.
Go to HyperPhysics.com for the full explanation and math on Ohms law.
This is a matter of science not sales mumbo jumbo.

i will look,,it was an idea someone gave me regarding the ability to drive the Tannoys...
I got A's in physics...with calculus...buut soooo long ago!

A MC40 in good condition with good outputs is normally capable of 50 to 52 watts at 1% THD, at 40 watts it should run less than .5% and typically runs .2% THD or less.

For the simplified version, P(power)=I(current in amps-squared-where is that superscript key?)R. Therefore, using the above, the square-root of 40/4 (giving you benefit of the doubt by using 4 ohms rather than 16) this is something just a bit more than 3amps. Probably enough to stun your goldfish before your MC-40 gives out.

But, this is a simple, steady-state calculation. Due to the energy stored in your circuits, primarily the power supply caps, you can probably get at least twice this for a bit.
