How Many Kenwood/Trio Components Have you Heard/Owned?

You mean how many did I see come into the shop breathing their last breath? At least 3 to 4 times as many as anything else. 70's and 80's was not a good time for Kenwood, and Viet Nam vets were hard on their equipment. Though Sansui fared a lot better only surpassed by Pioneer for the least number of failures on equipment built in the Orient. Aiwa was another brand that had issues. Sony was OK, as were Onkyo, Integra, and Accuphase performed flawlessly. Kyrocerra gave us very few problems as did Technics. Pioneer and Pioneer Ellite are still my favorite middle of the line pieces from the Orient. As I retired in 2004 and by then Kenwood had gotten their act together. They were popular in the car stereo and have gained respect in all forms of amplification from car stereo to Short wave, I under stand. But back when they were very low on my list , but the repair shop guys loved them $$$$$$$$$

I've owned four and still have the L-01T. Have no idea how many I've heard, but have not heard any in my system other than the four.

I have owned a Kenwood amp and tuner I bought in the 70s and never had a problem with either. And lately I have bought 6 more amps and 4 tuners and the only issue I have with them is that with the exception of one amp, (a KA-7100), there has been nothing wrong with any of them that a good cleaning of the contacts wouldn't fix. I was actually hoping for a bit more of a challenge.

All owned by me, I no longer have the 3200.
I will always have a place for a KENWOOD in my house. Last Sunday, I found an audio rack specifically to display and use my 8100 in my living room. Good stuff, Maynard!

I have never posted. But I have owned many since the mid 70s. My first was a stack that If I remember correctly was KA-4100, KT-4100 pluse a matching cassette deck
They may have been a 4300 series. I do remember 40 watts per, I than purchased a brand new KR-8010 which I only recently sold in 2017. It was purchased in 1977.
Since that time their have been many.
KA-7100, KT-615, KR-3600 also a mid 90s black stack which I couldn't tell you what it was but was said to be 150 per. Which brings us to now. I after many years found my Holy Grail Kenwood a KR-9600. I have wished for one since I purchased that first 40 watt stack. I traded my 7100 and
615 for a complete restoration of my 9600 and I intend to enjoy it for the rest of my days. Cheers to all and I am grateful for all the info gleened for all of you! Jason B

I had a Kenwood rack sysrem back in the 90s that was total crap really, I think the amp was optimistically rated at 150wpc. My dad gave me his 45wpc Onkyo A5 and it spanked it badly. I still use the tuner almost daily, and have the Eq around here somewhere. Now I have C2 preamp in the living room system, and will be rotating in a newly acquired pair of L -09Ms soon.

I don't have anything like the history/ownership as so many of you here! Interestingly though, Kenwood is almost like a 'bookend' manufacturer in terms of my first and most recent pieces of HiFi.

In the early 1990s as a teenager desperate for proper HiFi components (as opposed to a midi/stack system) but without an income to purchase any, I inherited a Trio KA-2500 integrated amplifier (along with some Wharfedale speakers) that my now-late grandfather had purchased for my uncle in 1970. This served me for a couple of years until I got a NAD 302 integrated amplifier in late 1993. To this day I have no idea what happened to that amp

Fast forward to earlier this year when I imported a Kenwood KP-1100 turntable from Japan and I love it. Maybe, in a future in which I am considerably better off financially than I am now, I will be assemble a vintage secondary system comprising of Kenwood kit...

Hey Kenwood people, can any of y'all offer any insight on the the KA-2500? And what is a reasonable price I should pay for it? Cheers.

KA-6000 and 2020 scope. But before that the FM only TK-55. I took the 6000 to a Mc clinic in 1970 or so. Dave O'Brien's comment still amuses me: "Well, it's working great right now."

Used to have the KA 3500 and tuner with walnut cabinet 40 WPC. And I do have the KR 3600 receiver 22 WPC in the basement work out room. But it's big Yamaha amplifier for my main system .

Rejoined the Trio-Kenwood family. Now have a Kenwood KA 405 integrated amplifier. Only problems, volume pot a bit dirty, and microphone input pot very dirty. Sounds great in the classic Trio-Kenwood way, and very well built. Now have to hunt down a KT series tuner to go with it. I love my Kenwood! Will clean those pots soon.

My daily driver, right now, is a mostly-restored KR-6160. The TOTL of the cap-coupled KR-n1n0 line. Quite a birdsnest inside and has a slider for balance, but sounds good.
