Damn! Here I thought I was kind of partial to Kenwood gear.

Rejoined the Trio-Kenwood family. Now have a Kenwood KA 405 integrated amplifier. Only problems, volume pot a bit dirty, and microphone input pot very dirty. Sounds great in the classic Trio-Kenwood way, and very well built. Now have to hunt down a KT series tuner to go with it. I love my Kenwood! Will clean those pots soon.
Welcome back. I just recently got a KA-405 myself and will be restoring it soon.

Hey gort! I have a kr-9400 for your collection! I don't see one in your collection. My only kenwood receiver. Nice big power.

I do have a kw-4077, ka-5700, kt-5500, kr-9400 and kt-880.

Got a line on a pair of L-07M amps but nothing finalized.

<edit>Oh, and a pair of L-07M amps.

And a few more in 2019:
KA-5700 (another one)
KA-3500 x 2
KA-7100

KR-9940

Yes, and technically, it was the 6410A submodel. Maybe the last quad I'll ever mess with, but it was interesting.

TK55 FM only receiver, KA6000 and KC6060 scope. Solid build and clean.
I should have bought the KT7000 tuner but a better one came along for $450. Wish I still had it. See avatar.

Bought my first Kenwood in early 1971 an kept upgrading for year and a half finally settling on a KA-7002 before moving on to McIntosh amps.
KT-2001 Jun 71, $105
KF-8011 Jan 72, $218
KA-7002 Dec 72, $336
Still have these plus another KA-7002 which I bought for parts but rebuilt. Now it sounds better than the original which I recently fixed.
I like the simple look of the KA's and the strong detents on the switches and the smooth Volume control.

Until now:
KA 501; 601; 701; 801; 907
KA 880D, 880SD, KA 990Ex, 990Sd, KA 1100 SX, KA 827, KA 800, KA 900

Feel like telling us the S/N? I noticed that the filter caps are gray. Both my units have black ELNA's. The two KA 7002's are S/N's 420432 & 641432.
Another difference I noticed between my two is that the lower S/N uses machine screws to hold the cover on rather than a sheet metal screw. Inside the unit various signal xistors are different, a couple of cap values and a 470 uF capacitor in the power supply on the older one that I lost track of during rebuild (dumb move), but does not exist in the newer unit.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Bottoms up; it's Friday!
