How to restore the black coating on back of Marantz tuning dial

I have just taken apart the face plate on my 2220B to replace the vellum and bulbs. While removing the vellum, I scratched the black coating off of the back of the tuning dial in a couple of places. I was going to touch it up with a sharpie, but decided to ask here for suggestions. Thanks!

That's exactly what I used on my 2325 and it worked like a charm. Also had scratches on the Stereo and Dolby and did them with red sharpie on the back side. Go for it!

I accidentally made a similar scratch on the faceplate of my 2270. Went to the hobby store and got a tiny bottle of Testors black. Problem solved.

I do what 'thxdave' does! A red sharpie is great for the red part though.
