How to tell if what DAC your computer has?

Is there a program or something that detects what DAC your PC has?
when i was playing the game Blockland, in the settings it detects what OpenAL version you have, this could be a hint?

Look at the hardware device manager. It will identify sound devices installed.

I can relate as being an audio nerd from grade school on. And wow have things changed between our ages.

From the little you've told here I'm assuming your computer doesn't have a dedicated sound card???

Especially if this is the case the idea of there being a standalone dac in the common idea kinda doesn't apply here.

It's why the other poster mentioned looking in device manager to see what your computer is using as a sound device.

May I ask why your trying to find this out?

If your interested in improving your computer as a 2 ch audio source theres much that can be done. And done on the cheap. That's the nice part of the China toys of today. I know when I was 14 I wasnt rolling in $$$.
