How would Vienna Acoustics Bach Grands work with my CR 1020

I’ve got an opportunity to purchase a pair of these for $500. I’m not familiar with them and for $500 I’m wondering if they will work well with my CR-1020 or if there are better options for that sort of money?

For 500 USD - if they are in nice shape it is a no brainer.

Maybe so but I’d rather not put my receiver under a lot of stress either.

I'd be looking for more power to run than what your Yamaha puts out. They are great speakers, though.

I agree with the above. If they are a big upgrade to what you have now I'd go for them.
Buy speakers, buy power amp to run them and use the CR as a pre for now.

That’s wht the repair tech said with regards to the 1020, he stated the receiver wouldn’t like that much load. They are a nice price but I think I’ll hold off for now.

You can always add a 2-channel amplifier behind the CR1020 and make those Vienna's shine. They aren't power hungry, they are just a bit too much for the Yammie is all. The speakers are good ones and that price is a very good deal, IMHO.
